DECOLONIZE

Jaja Dare (Wiradjuri) is ablaze with the exploration of how we move forward as a nation and believes an epic part of decolonizing our systems is the internal revolution, a deep commitment to self-responsibility and healing. Systemic racism continues to perpetuate trauma in this country, for our people, and our lands. The system is cracking and it is up to all of us to listen deeply. It is time for our country to evolve into what is not only possible but necessary.

“ Our lands everywhere are hurting and we are being called on urgently to start this healing process. Our lands need to be well for our people to be well. Our ancestors are waking us up and we are responding. Black sovereignty is about the wellbeing of everyone; Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and non-Indigenous. We all need to take part.

Fires, floods, pandemics; Black Lives Matter, and the time for change has never been so imminent. Get behind the Decolonise mob as we gather on country to yarn about how we generate sustaining black leadership. Your donation will enable First Nations elders, leaders, and emerging young ones in our music, arts, storytelling, and activism spaces to sit together, strengthen our relationship to country and integrate our old ways into current times, bringing our lands and people back to balance.

We are navigating this medicine with our ancestors, we are following the guidance in this process to decolonize so we can build a symbiotic relationship with our lands again, so they can sustain us and our future generations.”
