Cambodia with Wendy Sharpe
21 – 29 November 2013

Heart warming and humbling, blessed with un-spoilt beaches and pristine forests it is in fact the gentle, polite and friendly nature of the people that makes Cambodia such a memorable destination.

One of Australia’s most awarded artists, Wendy Sharpe returns to Cambodia to lead this inspirational artistic journey to Angkor Wat and Siem Reap. The astounding temples of Angkor date back to 802-1432 AD are a monumental experience and are regarded as the heart and soul of Cambodia.

Participants will have the opportunity to watch the sunrise over the majestic temples, near the lesser-used eastern gate and head off the beaten trail to uncover the ruins of tree-covered Ta Prohm.

Guided by Wendy Sharpe, artists will walk through Siem Reap stopping along the way to photograph, sketch and paint in the Old French Quarter exploring the Old Market area. Be inspired by traditional Apsara dance performances, craft shops, silk farms, rice-paddy countryside and the quaintest of fishing villages.

Accommodation is at Hanumanalaya Boutique Residence, a 4-star hotel located at a quiet end of town in Siem Reap with steam-room, sauna and beautiful grounds. Art Retreats International guests will have exclusive use of the Hanumanalaya Villa, close to the main Boutique Residence including a private studio space for our artists.
