The Reef Tour

Yabu Band
YABU – means ‘GOLD’ in the traditional Indigenous language of the Wongutha people. On completion of a highly successful, sold out tour through out Western Australia and a show in both Melbourne and Alice Springs, Yabu Band received some well deserved recognition by winning Indigenous Artist Of The Year at the 2012 WAMi Awards. ANKAAA, a peak visual arts body based in Darwin and servicing the Top End regions of WA and NT, holds an important position of cultivating the dialogue between aboriginal artists, art collectors and art conservators at some of Australia’s most prestigious art organisations. Kalkadunga Man is an artistic musical collaboration that features Australia’s leading didgeridoo master William Barton and the extraordinary voices of The Song Company. Thanks to Principal Sponsor TOTAL E&P Australia, and the support of numerous corporate and private businesses and government funding agencies, Kalkadunga Man toured to WA and Darwin during July & August 2011.
